But it sounds we are going to get some improvements, shoulders to Hwy 1 maybe, improved lighting at Hwy 34 and Hwy 1
Attached is the formal DOT legal notice. It appears construction could begin as early as spring of 2027 with completion as early as fall of 2028

Continued County Fair Celebrations
Thank you to Karey Koehn for the photos and summaries.

Odin Janssen created a diorama on the Nebraska saline wetland. It earned third place in the 4-H General Categories area and was selected for the state fair.

Did you happen to catch this cute honeybee water fountain in the 4-H building at the Cass County Fair? Leo Janssen created this fun fountain, and it will be on display at the state fair.

Meighan Smith, a senior at Elmwood-Murdock, was selected as a top showman with both her goat and poultry projects. She also earned the 4-H Top Shot Award this year in the Shooting Sports contest. Meighan had several static projects selected for the state fair.

Kaden Butler earned the reserve champion showmanship rosette with his dairy goat project. He was busy at the fair this year, showing dairy and meat goats and market swine. He also baked an amazing double chocolate cake for the 4-H cake auction.

Harrison Koehn, a 2025 Elmwood-Murdock graduate, earned the top award in 4-H
Quilt Quest with his hand-painted barn quilt design. He also received reserve
champion on his recycled guitar shelf and his computer project. Harrison has eight
projects selected for state fair this year.

Dawson Smith earned the open class reserve champion on his wood flag. What an amazing project!

Lila Mather was very busy collecting Championship Showmanship and even earning a trip to the State Fair. She also had a Champion goose. She also showed chickens and rabbits, I think I heard 27 animal entries. WOW girl!

COME ON OVER!
This is how country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity. People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.
Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
