MINUTES
VILLAGE OF MURDOCK
OCTOBER 1, 2024

The Village of Murdock Board of Trustees met on Tuesday October 1, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. Roll call as follows; Jake Wilson, Dave Nuss, Lee Towle, and Clerk were present. Brittany Cooklin and Michelle Chesnut were both absent.

The minutes from the previous September meeting were read and motioned to be approved by Lee Towle second by Jake Wilson with all members voting in favor of.

The following checks were approved for payment: Windstream phon/int.-444.42; Black Hills Energy gas.serv.-87.30; Cass co RWD#2 1,223,000 gals-6359.60; St of NE PHE Lab reg/sp wat test-375.00; Column Software PBC publ.-152.14; J. Faubion wat oper/postage-181.70; J. Barnes payroll-1086.42; E-M Public Schools liq.lic.funds-511.78; GreyStone Flatwork N side PO-9662.00; Gordon Electric tow.contr.-1048.49; Utility Service Co. Inc. tower 1st paymnt-35,572.00; Lee Enterprises publish.-172.45; D. Nuss water sampls/supplies-556.00; United State Treasury 941 3rd qtr.-1037.61; Ashland Disposal Service garb.serv.-2652.75; NE Dept. of Revenue 941N 3rd qtr-90.72. Old Business- No additional info concerning the old well. Water Tower has been approved to be back online. Contractors have not returned Jake Wilson’s calls. Dave Nuss will look into purchasing bagged asphalt prices to fix potholes before winter.

Nuss will contact Elmwood to see about additional contacts for tree grinding for storm pile at school. Lovell’s are two weeks out for flushing sewer lines.

Rosetta Story attended meeting to present the list of signs needing replaced. Dave will contact Michael Todd & Co. to order 7 signs, 2 pole caps, 14 sign connectors. Story will also be fixing the Season’s Greeting’s signs.

New Business-Jake Wilson mentioned the Fire Barn Building Contract between the Rural Fire Board and Village will be coming due and both parties will begin forming a new agreement for the future.

Matt Griffin requested permission to remove a telephone pole on his property belonging to Windstream that is no longer in use. He will contact Windstream for this.

Jack Faubion has vocally submitted his resignation of Water Operator to Chairman Nuss. Nuss will act as interim Water Operator to be paid hourly until an Agreement is reached between Nuss and the Board.

There, being no further business, motion was made by Wilson and second by Towle that the meeting close and the next regular meeting will reconvene on Tuesday November 5, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Murdock Village Hall and it carried unanimously by RCV.

During the Worship Service, the Mortgage will be symbolically burned
Following the Worship Service a meal will be served in the Fellowship Hall.
