Glimpse into Murdock History
Continuing with our new series to the weekly news.
During the 1950s Pastor Heim would document his home visits with parishioners by taking a photo. These are no ordinary photos, but COLOR photographs. In the 1950s this was almost unheard of then. It was cutting edge "technology". Thank you to Ramona Oehlerking for the video/images.
Well hello, Bob and family. You look very familiar but I don't know your last name. Does anyone recognize this family and the kids? I bet they would love a blast from the past.
It seems these photos were taken at the same time, but it is hard to tell. Dad might of taken off his work shirt and the baby had his jacket removed so he wouldn't get food all over it. Kathy is still wearing the same dress though. I wonder what they were eating.
The Amqwert family below left Murdock and moved to Fort Collins, CO where they opened a western wear and goods store. Esther loved gardening and had a beautiful flower garden. Their son, Jack, later moved to Alaska. They are deceased and buried in the Wabash cemetery.
Just look at that lamp and lampshade. I bet they were the latest style and rage at the time.
