This will be the last newsletter before Christmas so I would like to wish everyone a VERY Merry Christmas. I hope your week is full of joy, family and friends.

This is my favorite time of the year. So many people go out of their way to make their houses festive and do little things that bring joy to others. From the Christmas trees on Main Street to the lighted winter wonderland light display at the Stroys

Remember me talking about the Santa and reindeer my Dad would put on the roof? Well, Rosetta Stroy has the same plastic molded yard decoration in her yard.
I just couldn't help but take a photo of it. My Dad had them mounted on a board longboard and we would climb through the bedroom window and he would "walk it" across the garage roof.
Christmas memories. Ones you will cherish and remember your whole life.

My house still isn't decorated, the cookies and Chex mix still isn't made, but it WILL happen! I have the next two days to get it done! Jennifer and her family, including my grandbabies, are coming this weekend and we will be enjoying Christmas through the eyes of our 20-month-old twins,...oh the JOY of Christmas when you are little. (yes, there will be a photo of them next week, indulge me, this is my gift for the full year)

Remember the reason for the season. It's not just about presents, gifts, but the birth of the Baby Jesus. It's time to celebrate Jesus Christ who is the greatest gift of all.
I know we do what we do out of LOVE for everyone. Everything has to be JUST perfect, all of the Christmas decorations just so, the presents wrapped perfectly, the "traditional" Christmas baking done. BUT, it may not happen, and that's ok.
Just like Santa, "I'm making my list, and checking it twice, trying to find out what's important or not."
(did you say that to the Christmas song tune. if not go back and do it, dare you)

To get you in the Christmas spirit, and take a break from the Christmas stress, don't forget to head over to the Aldrich House and Museum in Elmwood and gaze at the wonderful trees and decorated rooms.

Brenda Stewart decorated the dining room with a "German" gingerbread theme.

You might just get lost in the decorations and marvelous creativity.
Seriously I want these people to come and decorate my house for Christmas!!

The Murdock Lions club would once again thank everyone who has supported us in the last year. It was a very successful year of fundraising and accomplishing our goals. In November of each year, we split our funds into several projects and donate money to organizations that need our help.
This year we donated money to the Murdock Pride committee (M.I.T), Murdock Fire Dept., and the Cass Country Food Bank in Elmwood. We also support the DARE program in our school and we provide eye testing in the elementary school each year with the very best equipment. This project has been very much appreciated by the school administrators.
Other outside donations include the Weeping Water Legion (color guard), Lions Eyesight program, Lions International, and this year a donation to a service dog training facility in Ohio.
The Lions will also continue to provide three scholarships to E-M graduates who have shown the willingness to volunteer and help with community projects.
This year we also would like to thank the many Weeping Water residents who purchased peaches. We sold 110 boxes which helped us to be able to increase our donations.
We were saddened this year with the deaths of two of our long-standing members. The club is small but might. Please consider becoming a Lions member. We meet once a month (3rd Monday) and have two major activities each year, the Fourth of July lunch stand and selling of the peaches.
Once again, thank you to all who have supported us!
