Santa was in Murdock on Saturday
It just wasn't kids that gave the big man their Christmas wish. Wonder what went on Hank's Christmas list?

The snow made harvest difficult this year, and certainly snow before Halloween does NOT make Spooktacular trick or treating. but now that it's Christmas time I don't really mind it as much.
In fact, Murdock is beautiful and the M.I.T or Murdock Improvement team has been busy decorating.
If you are looking for a Christmas backdrop for family photos the decorated trees on Main Stree are perfect.
The wreaths are "decking the halls", alley fencing and doors and add a festive look to Murdock
Wreaths are hung on the light poles and the planter boxes that hold scarecrows and flowers in the summer now hold snowmen and miniature Christmas trees.
The trees on Main St spread to even the gas station. Maybe this Murdock tradition of a Christmas tree celebration will grow like the Scarecrow Festival.
I know it made me drive around town looking for more trees and decorations and I wasn't disappointed.
I need to come by the Stroy house on the south side of town at night. I always loved the vintage plastic outdoor Christmas decorations. My Dad would put Santa in a sleigh and reindeer on the roof.
I did catch these snowmen on Main Street and will post more Christmas decorating next week.
If you would like to submit your Christmas photos, either of your decorations, tree, visits with Santa please email them to

The Murdock Lions club would once again thank everyone who has supported us in the last year. It was a very successful year of fundraising and accomplishing our goals. In November of each year, we split our funds into several projects and donate money to organizations that need our help.
This year we donated money to the Murdock Pride committee (M.I.T), Murdock Fire Dept., and the Cass Country Food Bank in Elmwood. We also support the DARE program in our school and we provide eye testing in the elementary school each year with the very best equipment. This project has been very much appreciated by the school administrators.
Other outside donations include the Weeping Water Legion (color guard), Lions Eyesight program, Lions International, and this year a donation to a service dog training facility in Ohio.
The Lions will also continue to provide three scholarships to E-M graduates who have shown the willingness to volunteer and help with community projects.
This year we also would like to thank the many Weeping Water residents who purchased peaches. We sold 110 boxes which helped us to be able to increase our donations.
We were saddened this year with the deaths of two of our long-standing members. The club is small but might. Please consider becoming a Lions member. We meet once a month (3rd Monday) and have two major activities each year, the Fourth of July lunch stand and selling of the peaches.
Once again, thank you to all who have supported us!
