Can you believe it's only a week and a half until Christmas? Where did the time go? Hopefully, we can get some snow before then and the Christmas trees on Main Street will have a blanket of white. Thanks to Murdock PRIDE and the volunteers for making the town look so festive.
If you have any events you would like shared, please send them to
2nd Annual Living Nativity
Located off Highway 1 south of Murdock and north of Elmwood. Experience the wondrous Christmas story as you walk through the barn and interact with the animals of the stable.
Great activity to start a new family tradition. Bring the kids. There are sheep, calves, and even kittens that roam freely throughout the barn. You never know where you might see one. Hear the story of Jesus birth in a barn with the sounds of animals around.

The ELMWOOD-Murdock fan of the week is designed to honor those members of the Elmwood Murdock community who give their time, talents and support to our programs. This year’s super sponsors of the Fan of the Week program are Corn Grower's State Bank, Mick’s Diesel Repair, Pyramid Roofing, Security First Bank, Spohr's Landscaping and Witte Physical Therapy.

On November 30th at the games vs Yutan, our Fans of the Week were Peg Barrett and her late husband, Tom. Peg and Tom are the grandparents of Mitchell, Zach, and Nate Rust and have spent countless hours driving to many Elmwood Murdock Basketball games. Their support of Elmwood Murdock could always be counted on and you could hear them cheering from the stands no matter where we played.
The Spirit Squad honored Peg with our Fan of the Week T-shirt.
In addition to being our Fan of the Week, the Varsity Boys Basketball Team also shared a few words.
First, we'd like to extend our thoughts to the Rust and Barrett families. We are sorry for your loss. Basketball teaches us many lessons in life, and one of the most valuable lessons is believing in the power of team support.
Peg, tonight we are passing you a physical reminder of our support to you. Don't forget about your support teams. We will miss seeing Tom in the stands but we bet he'll be watching from the front row. Please accept this signed basketball from the boys as a thank you for all the support you and Tom have given our team.
Thank you, Peg and Tom for all your enthusiasm and your willingness to Cheer Loud and Cheer Proud for the Knights!

"The Forgotten Carols” Kicks Off Christmas Season at the Lofte

Manley, NE [November 28, 2018] - The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces the opening of its Christmas production, “The Forgotten Carols,” on December 2 at 7 pm. The script and original music are written by Michael McLean. Mr. McLean was the producer for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for nearly 20 years. Rounding out the cast are John Bell of Omaha, Brenda Jones of Louisville, Vic Kiefer of Plattsmouth, Lynette Boyce of Lincoln, Brandy Hall of Papillion and Scott Pope of Eagle. Also in the production is a community choir directed by Brandy Hall. Choir members include Lyle Reinholz, Megan Lane, Rebecca Adams, Lily Borland, Timothy Campbell Christina Daley, Jeff Hanson, Pat Lane, Jerry Patry, Ken Patry, Kendra Reynolds and Nick Roth all of Omaha, Adele Bakirane, Gabriella Bakirane and Bob Boyce of Lincoln, Jean Colbert and Tyge Thomas of Weeping Water, Molly Feile and Chelsea Lulla of Ashland, Ken Snyder, Janet Sorensen, Abraham Vidaurre and Jim Wolcott of Elmwood and Diana Geditz of Louisville.
