We are looking for original photos of the church before the fire.
If anyone has any original photos in their basement, attics, or in boxes please email Dawn Romine (editor).
Photos will be returned unharmed and in original condition after scanning.

E-M Seniors Are the Voice of Knights
Elmwood-Murdock high school added a digital journalism class this year. In addition to producing a weekly news broadcast and other video projects, the class also covered home varsity football and basketball games for StrivTV.
Two seniors, Whitney Koehn and Jenna Meyer, became the official “Voice of the Knights” at 6 football games and 13 girls and boys basketball games. They also had the honor of announcing the first-round state boys basketball game for another sports program.
Whitney and Jenna didn’t just put in the hours in headphones during their live broadcasts, but they also prepared before each game collecting statistics on opponents and writing clever comments to share during each match.

Whitney and Jenna’s broadcasts had a fan following from local community members and also from the high school athlete’s friends and family members who lived far away.
Although the live broadcasts were a little stressful, the two reporters seemed to enjoy the level of energy and improved their announcing skill throughout the season.

In fact, for Whitney Koehn, her sports coverage will not end in high school. She will play volleyball for Nebraska Wesleyan University in the fall and has secured a job in the college athletic department – hoping to put her athlete video and sports broadcasting experience to good use.
To hear Whitney and Jenna’s sports announcing and see some boys basketball athlete videos, go to http://striv.tv/channel/elmwood-murdock/ and check out BB vs Oakland-Craig.
Good job girls and thank you to Karey for submitting the news and images.
NETV Television to Highlight Elmwood-Murdock Quilt Project
Last summer, a producer from NETV videotaped interviews with Maechelle (Mickie) Clements and Kurk Shrader regarding the Cass County barn quilt project.
Several barns around Murdock will be featured.
ETV Television to Highlight Elmwood-Murdock Quilt Project
Last summer, a producer from NETV videotaped interviews with Maechelle (Mickie) Clements and Kurk Shrader regarding the Cass County barn quilt project.
In March, NETV is going to air a one-hour program called "Patchwork on the Plains". This is a look at the history, family traditions, patriotism and community pride that goes into painted plywood barn quilts.
Mickie had a vision to start the barn quilt project in Nebraska and wanted Cass County to be the first Nebr. county to display them.
It was made possible through the joint efforts of the Elmwood-Murdock FBLA and art students, students and Kurk Shrader.

Veterinary Camp for Kids

Junior Vet Camp
For students completing 2nd - 5th grades
The Oxbow Junior Veterinarian Camp is designed especially for children who have a passion for animals and veterinary medicine.
The 4-day camp includes many hands-on activities involving live animals, games and unique crafts.
Campers learn about veterinary tools, x-rays, body systems and functions, and important issues like animal over-population. In addition, they also get to practice activities like real veterinarians perform, including record-keeping and animal health exams.
At the end of camp, they perform a mock surgery, using all that they’ve learned. Campers get their very own set of scrubs and a stethoscope to take home.
Elmwood-Murdock Elementary School (Elmwood, NE) June 5 - 8
I have a special attachment for this camp as I worked at Oxbow Animal Health for many years and this was a project I helped start. Any child who loves animals would love this camp.
For more information and registration visit the Oxbow Academy website.
