These are the 2016-17 Spirit Squad Recruits! Try outs are the week of March 14th...wish them all good luck!

Left to right: Victoria Wilhelm, Hannah Mather, Chealy Kucera, Kabrianna Mumford, Alyssa Closner, Shailey Hayek, Brianna Scattergood, Elyse Drake, Tatum Munhall, Alexis Campbell and Jacqueline Wilhelm
The Spirit Squad Helps Out at 10K
The Spirit Squad recruits all volunteered on Saturday, March 5th at the Leprechaun Chase at Mahoney State park by running 2 water stations for the 2500+ runners out to enjoy the amazing weather and run a 10k race through the park. Thank you to all the parents and other students who came out to help and support our EMHS Spirit Squad! Currently the cheerleading program is not sanctioned by the Elmwood Murdock school system. Therefore any medals and trophies that the squad earns cannot be displayed at the school. The School Board will be petitioned at the school board meeting on March 9th to allow the girls to display their trophy in the schools trophy case and have a state championship banner displayed on the Wall of Excellence in the gym. No doubt the girls have been a huge support to the Elmwood Murdock School athletic program. Let's hope they have the same support reciprocated.

Science Fair News
The Elmwood Murdock Elementary School held their Science Fair Tuesday night. The kids were so excited to give their presentations. Little do they know that this is preparing them for Speech class in high school and they will be scared to death then!

Mrs. Stock was one of the judges.

Jordyn will likely be a doctor or scientist. Or a professional science fair exhibitor!

Brooke was not a bit shy to present to Tammy Lockman.

Charlie was ready and waiting.

Sara was really proud of her experiment.

These girls were enjoying playing with the bubbles.

Mr. Backemeyer was a judge, too.

Mrs. Schmidt listened intently to the presentation.

Shay was excited to keep the fish alive until the presentation.

Braden did his experiment about basketball.

A little more science news...the well water testing night sponsored by the Lower Platte South NRD and the Elmwood Murdock Science Club was a success. A lot of samples were dropped off to be tested.
