Speech Team Knight at the Oscars
The Elmwood Murdock Speech team, coached by Heather Bornemeier, presented their speeches to about 130 people March 15th. The crowd was all dolled up like they were attending the Oscars. The audience enjoyed the evening and were impressed with the kids' speeches. The team had a very successful year and the four seniors will be greatly missed next year!

Bess Streeter Aldrich Foundation's Spring Banquet

Evening includes dinner followed by a program and awards ceremony for the 2014 Aldrich short story contest winners. This year's speaker is author Susan Dittman who will share highlights from her book, "Abraham Lincoln’s Shining Star, The Inspiring Story of Abraham Lincoln and Nebraska".

The 2014 SOS Spring Carnival will be held on Friday April 4 at the elementary school. This is a great way to spend a fun evening supporting our wonderful school! “Rave On!” at Lofte Community Theatre

Elmwood Murdock Prom Festivities
Prom was a great event as always. The kids had a great time at Dave and Busters in Omaha. They rode on coach buses to the facility and enjoyed a nice dinner. After an evening of dancing they were ready to cut loose. The kids changed into their comfy clothes and played until the wee hours of the morning. They had all kinds of video games to keep the kids busy and of course, more food. I know my son had a great time! Thanks to all the parents and school staff who planned the event and chaperoned the evening. You did a good thing!

On April 12th, come to the fourth annual SAFE KIDS SPRING SAFETY EVENT AND BIKE RODEO at the Plattsmouth Community Center from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.! Auditions at Lofte Community Theatre
Manley, NE [March 19, 2014] - The Lofte Community Theatre will be holding open auditions for its season opener, “Dearly Beloved,” on Monday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 8 at 7pm. Production dates for the show are May 24-June 8. The Lofte’s artistic director, Kevin Colbert will direct the show.
Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, “Dearly Beloved,” is the story of a small-town Southern wedding that goes hilariously awry. It’s a comedy about love, sisterhood and three hundred pounds of Texas barbeque.
There are parts available for eight women ages 18-75 and four men ages 20-55. Those auditioning should bring a list of possible schedule conflicts. A complete description of the show and available roles can be found on Lofte.com. The Lofte is located in Cass County just east of the intersection of Hwy 1 and Hwy 50.
