Chris Andersen brought his donkeys to the parade. They are always a hit!
The officer was handing out items to promote D.A.R.E..
The EM band was dressed very smartly considering how warm it was that day. Mr. Hansen has been the band director for 10 years...time does fly. Thanks, Mr. Hansen for sticking with us and being a great band instructor!
The tractor ride was quite exctiting for this boy.
Several communities sent their fire departments to the parade. Their vehicles were quite impressive!
The big truck spewed forth a powerful mist of water that the kids thoroughly enjoyed!
They didn't want to get out of the way! The truck had to blow it's siren to get them to move.
Dave Fischer had a companion in the sidecare this year. After the parade he gave rides to anyone who wanted one. His wife, Deb, was running along side.
John McNaught was advertising the Elmwood Small Engine Repair and the Recycling service while his wife had a float for the Elmwood C Store.
Oxbow had a float to promote their Vet camps.
Our own Shannon Ronhovde is Miss Cass County. Dale Vanderford was happy to drive her around.
Jessica Brockhoff was Miss Murdock this year. Her dad and sister escorted her in this spiffy convertible.
The Murdock Lions club was out in force that day waving and having a great time.
The Rescue units are always popular. We love our fire and rescue personnel and love to see them in our parades. The kids really like the sirens and the candy.
John Stroy and friends have been putting on a fireworks show the last couple of years. They do an awesome job and love to have people come out to the ball fields to enjoy it.
This old tractor was chugging right along with the newer ones.
The Elmwood Murdock Cheerleaders showed their stuff!

Stacey Dorr passed out trinkets to promote her hair salon, the Stylist Next Dorr.
The Elmwood Murdock Merchants Association supplied the cool flags for the event.
After the parade and festivities the firemen put together a water fight for everyone to watch.

Congrats Cass County Creative Cats - way to represent at State 4-H Life Skills! Our team won 4th place for their community service project, third place for the Quiz Bowl competition (and the other Cass team with Austin Hawks placed second), most creative children's book - and the big surprise first place on a clothing challenge to redesign a dated prom dress. This is even more surprising because John Willey helped with the clothing project. The event coordinator wanted to know if he would model the new dress when it was complete!
Way to go Brenna Backemeyer, Emily Zakaras, Jenna Meyer, Mackenzie Burch, John Willey, Whitney Koehn, Megan Hawks, and Austin Hawks.

The Elmwood Farmer's Market is in Full Swing!
Owen Kunz has people lining up for his fruits and vegetables. They are really good, too! He has watermelon, cantaloupe, sweet corn, potatoes, tomatoes, and more! Stop by on Saturday morning...usually 8-1.
Gloria Hensley also is a vendor at the Elmwood Farmer's Market. She has canned goods, fruits and vegies, and also homemade bread! You can even get some jam to go on the bread! It is yummy!
