4-Club Makes Scarves
The Tomorrow’s Producers 4-H Club met on Sunday at the Extension Office in Weeping Water. There were 7 members & 7 adults that participated. They made head scarves to donate to Inner Beauty Salon at the Methodist Cancer Hospital in Omaha. Everyone brought different material and helped by ironing, cutting, sewing, folding & tagging. In the end we made 110 scarves to donate! The reason we did this project is because there are groups or people that knit & crochet hats, but nothing cool for patients to wear during the summer. The scarves will be given free of charge to adults and teens. If it goes over well, we will continue to do this project in the future….so if anyone has scraps of cotton material at least 21” x 21” square or bigger and would like to donate to this club project contact Sue Platt, Karen Bogatz or Kim Griffin.
Kyle Bogatz, Charlotte & Valerie Miller, Matt & Kim Griffin were able to deliver the scarves to Lori Fuchs who runs the Inner Beauty Salon at the hospital on Tuesday morning.
Participating in the workshop were Kyle & Karen Bogatz, Charlotte & Kristi Miller, Diane, Lindsey, Maddie & Morgan Mills, Susie & Shenia Stamps, Sue Platt, Joyce Kupke, Kim & Matt Griffin.
