Kim Griffin and her family would like to thank everyone for their support at her benefit.  She wanted to share these pictures with everyone.   There was a great turn out and everyone had a fun time as they supported Kim.  She is dearly loved in this community and that was very clear by the turn out.  Pink was the prominent color of the day!  Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall and has been undergoing treatment.  The love and prayers for Kim have helped her through her battle.

Historic Bess Streeter Aldrich House Hosts First-Annual Quilt Show

Elmwood, NE – April 17, 2012 – There will be something for everyone on May 5th and 6th in Elmwood, as quilting, literature and history collide at the Bess Streeter Aldrich House’s first-annual quilt show.

A collection of quilts from the Oxbow Quilters, many of them prize-winners at local and state fairs, will be displayed throughout the author’s historic home.  Guests can visit with some of the quilters and Aldrich House tour guides on self-guided tours of the prairie-style home, built in 1922.

“We’re hoping to bring in lots of new visitors who haven’t toured the home before, and encourage those who have visited before to return for this special show,” Aldrich Foundation Teresa Lorensen said.  “And, the quilters are excited to show their creations at a local venue.”

The show begins Saturday, May 5, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and continues Sunday, May 6 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under.
