ELMWOOD-MURDOCK SPIRIT SQUAD FAN OF THE WEEK!!!
The Elmwood Murdock Spirit Squad Fan of the Week is a new program designed to honor those fans who go above and beyond in showing their spirit and/or giving their time and talents to support EM programs.  Co-sponsors of the Fan of the Week are Corn Growers State Bank, Heartland Flooring Center, Moss Trucking and Excavating/Moss Scrap Iron and Spohr's Landscaping and Consulting. This week's Fans of the Week are Jim and Nicki Rust.  Whatever sport it may be, whether boys or girls, home or away, Jim and Nicki are constantly there, capturing the glory days on film for all of our athletes.  The film they put together is the highlight of the athletic banquet and they only accept our thanks for all their time and efforts.  At the football game on Friday night, the Spirit Squad honored them as the E-M Fans of the Week.  They each received a limited edition Fan of the Week t-shirt and they will have a special designated parking spot at the next home game.  Congratulations and thank-you Jim and Nicki!!!

Thirty five Nebraska youth, including one Cass County 4-Her, will have their work showcased in the 18th annual Celebration of Youth.  Items were selected from the thousands of exhibits in the Clothing, Fashion Show, Home Environment and Quilt Quest departments at the 2011 Nebraska State Fair.  Natalia Nolting, age 13, daughter of Jason and Tasha Nolting of Murray, entered an intergenerational quilt in the Quilt Quest project area during the Cass County Fair.  Her entry was chosen for Nebraska State Fair competition and selected for the Celebration of Youth event.

The public is invited to the exhibition’s closing event on October 15, 2011 at 5:30 PM in the auditorium of the Home Economics building.   Each exhibitor in the Gallery will give a short artist’s talk about their piece.  The program will be followed by a final opportunity to see the exhibition in the Hillestad Gallery, and a reception hosted by the Friends of the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery.
