Inspiration
THE POSITIVE SIDE OF LIFE:

Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun every year.

How long a minute is depends on what side of the bathroom door you're on.

Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open.

Ever notice that the people who are late are often much jollier than the people who have to wait for them?

If Wal-Mart is lowering prices every day, how come nothing is free yet?
You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened.
We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
Have an awesome day

Working for God on earth does not pay much, but His Retirement plan is out of this world.
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

The Old Avoca (Nebraska) Schoolhouse will be hosting a Twin Fiddling Workshop on Saturday, November 15, for fiddlers (or violinists or violists) who want to learn to play nicely together with their fellow-fiddlers (or violinists or violists). Fiddlers (or violinists or violists) of any age and experience level are encouraged to enroll. Championship fiddler and fiddle book author, Deborah Greenblatt will share some tunes, hints about arranging for two fiddles, playing back-up, etc. The Workshop takes place on Saturday, November 15, 1 PM - 3 PM, in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse, in Avoca, Nebraska. Pre-registration is required, and enrollment is limited. For more information, call 402-275-3221, or send an e-mail to g-s@alltel.net.
A Sightreading Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, November 29, from 1 PM - 3 PM in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse, in picturesque Avoca, Nebraska. This will be a wonderful opportunity to play with other music students, and sightread music that you've never seen before, and don't have to ever see again. During the workshop, musicians will be discussing how to negotiate new compositions with minimum stress, and maximum music. The beauty of this workshop is that all you have to do is show up. There is no preparation necessary, although pre-registration is required. For more information, call 402-275-3221, or e-mail g-s@alltel.net.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2008 when...
1. You accidentally enter your PIN on the microwave.
2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.
7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.
10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.
11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )
12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.
13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to share this message with.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.

This is a quiz for people who think they know everything! I found out in a hurry that I didn't. These are not trick questions. They are straight questions with straight answers
1. Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.
2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?
3. Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. What are the only two perennial vegetables?
4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside?
5. in many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe, and the bottle is genuine; it hasn’t been cut in any way. How did the pear get inside the bottle?
6. Only three words in standard English begin with the letters ' dw' and they are all common words. Name two of them.
7. There are 14 punctuation marks in English grammar. Can you name at least half of them?
8. Name the only vegetable or fruit that is never sold frozen, canned, processed, cooked, or in any other form except fresh.

Answers To Quiz:
1. The one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends Boxing
2. North American landmark constantly moving backward. Niagara Falls (The rim is worn down about two and a half feet each year because of the millions of gallons of water that rush over it every minute.)
3. Only two vegetables that can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. Asparagus and rhubarb.
4. The fruit with its seeds on the outside. Strawberry.
5. How did the pear get inside the brandy bottle? It grew inside the bottle. The bottles are placed over pear buds when they are small, and are wired in place on the tree. The bottle is left in place for the entire growing season. When the pears are ripe, they are snipped off at the &n bsp;stems.
6. Three English words beginning with dw. Dwarf, dwell and dwindle.
7. Fourteen punctuation marks in English grammar. Period, comma, colon, semicolon, dash, hyphen, apostrophe, question mark, exclamation point, quotation mark, brackets, parenthesis, braces, and ellipses.

9. Six or more things you can wear on your feet beginning with 'S'.
Shoes, socks, sandals, sneakers, slippers, skis, skates, snowshoes, stockings, stilts.
