A woman was asked by a coworker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'
The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.' God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

What's Happening Around Our Community

“SERVE!”

”BLOCK!”

”ERIN!” (set)

”SPIKE!”
The girl's communication on the court was key in their playing together as a team!

Website of the Week
There will be a meeting for parents and students concerning our performing trip to New York at 2:30 Saturday, October 11 .
The agenda will include past fundraisers, future fundraisers and our financial status. A lot of work has begun on the soup supper scheduled for January 17th. This will include a silent auction with an emphasis on celebrity items that have been donated and items we hope will be donated.
A BIG THANK YOU to all who have already supported the “Youth to Carnegie Hall” by purchasing ‘Split the Pot' tickets, buying from concessions, and making donations for baked goods.
Please view the following for more information about this once in a life time spectacular event:
“Hello Everyone,
Visit our MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/youthtocarnegiehall where trip updates and information is posted on a regular basis. There is also a link to our on line fundraising webpage www.firstgiving.com/youthtocarnegiehall where people can donate right on line by using a secure payment option. This is great for family and friends who want to help us out.
Things that you can do on the MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/youthtocarnegiehall
1. Comment about the concert videos! Yes choir performances from the 2007 Concert are posted.
2. Click videos with friends and family (they are awesome!) where they can donate to the trip.
3. Make suggestions about fundraisers
4. Add to sites to see in New York City--located in the Links of Interest Blog
5. Subscribe to the blogs-don't have to have a MySpace account to do this (I don't think anyways, try it and see)
6. Read the latest messages and notes from Mrs. Colbert
7. Ask questions; get answers, network, and get others excited about the trip.
Let's see how many people we can have as friends and subscribers in a week!
Thank you for encouraging your kids in music and the arts, the experience will last a lifetime!
Dawn Hromanik, Fund Raising Committee Member”
