Inspiration
Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted. Do the math. Count your blessings. Faith is the ability to not panic. Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry. The most important things in your home are the people. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

What’s Happening Around Our Community

Congratulations to the boys Varsity Basketball Team for taking FIRST PLACE in the ECNC contest! The hard work put forth by the coaches and players really paid off!

Lofte Theatre to Hold Annual Meeting

Each year the Lofte Community Theatre in Manley honors its volunteers and patrons with a meeting and a special reunion. This year, the Lofte will be holding its annual meeting on Saturday, February 28th at 6 pm. Anyone who has volunteered, donated or has a special interest in the future of the theater is encouraged to attend.

While the purpose of the gathering is primarily to announce financials, report on ticket sales and elect board members, the evening usually takes on the form of an extended family reunion. Friends who haven't seen each other since the summer months are eager to catch-up with one another and reminisce about past play productions.

Artistic Director Kevin Colbert will announce schedule changes for the upcoming 2009 season, as well as share his play selections for 2010. Special awards will be presented to outstanding volunteers for 2008.

RSVP for this event by calling the Lofte box office at (402) 234-2553 or sending an email to ticket manager Jean Colbert at LofteTickets@Lofte.com

Tidbits

(Thanks to Keri Hogue for sending this in!!!)
*Love thy enemies - it will drive them nuts. (My second favorite.)
*There is nothing wrong with the younger generations that twenty years will not cure.
*People who expect the worst usually find it.
*Always do right - this will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
*Delicious food that melts in your mouth also sticks to your hips.
*Good judgment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.

And my favorite... (the one I really wanted to share, but gave you a few extras...)

*Be careful how you live - you may be the only Bible some people read.*

And I thought this from Thomas Jefferson was interesting:
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. - Thomas Jefferson
