Inspiration
To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: GOD
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE
This is God. Today I will be handling
All of your problems for you. I do Not
need your help. So, have a nice day.
I love you.
P.S. And, remember..
If life happens to deliver a situation to you
that you cannot handle, do Not attempt to
resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD
(something for God to do) box. I will get to it in
MY TIME. All situations will be resolved, but
in My time, not yours.
Once the matter is placed into the box, do not
hold onto it by worrying about it. Instead, focus
on all the wonderful things that are present in
your life now.
Should you decide to send this to a friend;
Thank you. You may have touched their life
in ways you will never know!
Now, you have a nice day.
God
God has seen you struggling,
God says it's over.
A blessing is coming your way.
What’s Happening Around Our Community
I will have some pictures of the Youth to Carnegie Hall Soup Supper/Auction next week. My computer is down so I couldn't get them sent in. Just to let everyone know, we raised around $7,000.00 roughly. Final figures are not in yet. THANK YOU to all of you who played a part in helping make it happen. Go to www.elmwoodnebraska.com for pictures and information. I'm sure Julie was able to get some news in about it. More next week.
Mike Krass wins the "Good Neighbor Award"

Jon Luetchen and Lyndsey Hrabik served on the Good Neighbor Committee. On behalf of the Merchants’ Association, they thanked everyone who submitted nominations for this year’s good neighbor award. The five recipients deserved this honor and served as excellent role models in our communities.
“Our first recipient is Ed Blunt. We thank Suzie and Lou Allgayer for nominating Ed because we agree that he is known as a good neighbor to the residents of Elmwood. This year recognizes a special anniversary for Ed, who has served on the Rescue Squad for thirty years. During that time, he served as rescue captain for 25 years and currently retains that position. He is responsible for overseeing the general operation of one of the finest units in Cass County. His leadership does not stop with the rescue squad, as he has been a fire fighter for more than 30 years. He has also served as a Elmwood Town Board member and is currently the chairman, an office he has held many times. The merchants appreciate his willingness to support our many activities and Suzie and Lou are particularly pleased that he has assumed the responsibility for installing and maintaining the Christmas lights in the park. We can all agree that Ed has been a great example for all of us and ask that you please help us recognize Ed Blunt as our first Good Neighbor Award recipient.”
“The second individual we would like to recognize is Mike Krass, also of Elmwood. Nominator Suzie Allgayer would like to recognize him for his many years of dedication to the Elmwood Rescue Squad. Like Ed, Mike is also celebrating his 30th anniversary. Over those years, he has literally donated thousands of hours in his training and serving of our community. He served as the lietenent for many of those years and is easily recognized as one of the faithful who consistently reports to most emergencies. Likewise, the fire department has benefited from his dedication for over 30 years. Mike has also committed many hours as a coach for the Elmwood-Murdock School’s junior high boys’ basketball program and continues to support them as they move into high school. This supportive nature has not gone unnoticed as he was named one of the school’s Fan of Week last winter. Please join me in recognizing Mike Krass as our second Good Neighbor Award recipient.”
“Our third recipient of the Good Neighbor honor is another individual who contributes to the community in many ways. Those who have been residents of Elmwood for many years understand why Darlene Middleton nominated Norman Brockhoff. Darlene writes, Norman contributes a great deal to our community and the senior center. He delivers meals to people who can’t get to the center and finds time to help with special fundraisers like soup suppers and pancake feeds. He is a friendly individual who helps Elmwood be recognized as a friendly community. He is also well known for his sense of humor and quick wit. We all appreciate what he does for our community and especially our senior citizens. Let’s congratulate Norman Brockhoff as the third Good Neighbor Award recipient.”
“As the school secretary at the elementary building in Elmwood, nominator Mary Furgerson writes this about our fourth recipient: Kathy Goudie. Kathy volunteers many hours to our elementary school. She is willing to help in the office or even the cafeteria at lunch time. She donates time as a TeamMates mentor at our school; she is the perfect role model as she is one of the most giving people that I have ever met. She is always helping people out, and I am pleased to have her as a friend and recognize her for dedication to the school children in our district. Won’t you please help me in recognizing a wonderful role model, community supporter, and our 4th good neighbor, Kathy Goudie.”
“Talk about first impressions… this good neighbor makes an outstanding first impression for the town of Murdock. Whether you are driving through town and asking directions or are one of the regulars who stops daily at the US Post Office, you are one of the lucky ones who has had your day impacted for the better. Our next recipient as you have probably guessed is Angie Friesell, our post master. Talk about being competent with her job. We all call her with those pesky mail questions and count on getting the right answer. Besides bringing warmth and enthusiasm to Main Street, Angie also is such a friendly, positive spirit for our community. We appreciate her involvement in local service groups, help with the museum, and leadership with the Merchants’ Association. I think you will agree with nominator Tycha Stander that Angie is well deserving of this honor. Won’t you please join me in recognizing her as our final good neighbor of the year.”

Tidbits
Expanding Frosting
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and calories per serving.
Reheating refrigerated bread
To warm biscuits, pancakes, or muffins that were refrigerated, place them in a microwave with a cup of water. The increased moisture will keep the food moist and help it reheat faster.
Newspaper weeds away
Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.
Broken Glass
Use a wet cotton ball or Q-tip to pick up the small shards of glass you can't see easily.
No More Mosquitoes
Place a dryer sheet in your pocket. It will keep the mosquitoes away.
Squirrel Away!
To keep squirrels from eating your plants, sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.
