Hello Elmwood-Murdock Community! How is your year starting off? Hopefully GREAT!
I would like to let you know that I really need the help of the community in order to keep this site excellent. Currently I am barely getting one email a week with news information.
I hope you will consider taking just a few minutes occasionally to help enhance the quality of our newsletter. It truly can take just minutes out of your time to send me ANY information you wish.
How are the Murdock Moderns doing? Anything happening in the two local churches? Any birthdays, anniversaries, babies born, anything new going on? Or, anything old going on? Had success with a certain product or restaurant or business you’d like to share about? Any unusual or FANTASTIC happenings with your family or friends? Let me know what’s happing in our community.
Thanks so much for your effort! I look forward to hearing from YOU!

Inspiration
Have you ever been just sitting there and all of a sudden you feel like doing something nice for someone you care for? THAT'S GOD talking to you through the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever been down and out and nobody seems to be around for you to talk to? THAT'S GOD wanting you to talk to Him.

Have you ever received something wonderful that you didn't even ask for, like money in the mail, a debt that had mysteriously been cleared, or a coupon to a department store where you had just seen something you needed, but couldn't afford? THAT'S GOD knowing the desires of your heart..

Have you ever been in a situation and you had no clue how it was going to get better, how the hurting would stop, how the pain would ease, but now you look back on it. .

THAT'S GOD passing us through tribulation to see a brighter day!

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM NEEDS PARENT/COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
The Elementary School Program teaches students in kindergarten through sixth grade, basic economic concepts through hands-on activities. The volunteers (who teach the lessons) are the key to the program’s impact in the classroom.
We are seeking parent/community volunteers that are willing to share their time, 30 to 50 minutes once a week for five visits, to enhance the students’ understanding of the local economy. In addition, the volunteers will inform the students how school relates to their future. The curriculum is offered free of charge to the school by Junior Achievement. We are planning on beginning this program in February. An informational/instructional meeting is scheduled for January 24, 2008 for people that volunteer for the program. Please contact, Principal, Bruce Friedrich, if you have any questions or would like more information about the program.
Websites of the Week
Jukebox:
It's amazing This a Jukebox; but it is no ordinary jukebox. It will play all of your favorite songs from 1952 through 1982.
Each year has a scroll or drop down box that shows all the great songs for that year. Most years have over 40 songs. There is even a section at the bottom that allows you to listen to show tunes, TV show themes, Doo Wop and several others. This is pretty neat....and it is free. Read the rest of this and then click on the site at the bottom.
Once you click on a song it will play and when it finishes it automatically plays the next song in the list and continues until it has played all the songs. This is really cool!!! It has a volume control which you should use in conjunction with your computers volume control.
One of the best features is that it will play in the background. That means you can be doing other computer work on a different screen. You can close the main screen and minimize the little play screen.
Pick and play any popular song from 1952 through 1982 or go to the specialty areas. You can't miss them. They are listed in very bright colors. That is for older eyes!!!
